From Screen to Street: The Most Authentic Stormtrooper Armor You Can Buy

As a die-hard Star Wars fan, the idea of owning a set of screen-accurate Stormtrooper armor has always been a dream of mine.

After doing some research, I came across Authentic Stormtrooper, a company that claims to sell the most authentic Stormtrooper armor and accessories available. Hey it’s in the name. Here’s my experience considering this purchase and why I think it might be the perfect fit for anyone looking to step into the Empire’s ranks.

Why Authentic Stormtrooper?

Authentic Stormtrooper sets itself apart with its commitment to accuracy and quality. They base their designs on the original Stormtrooper Stunt helmet and armor, using the actual molds from the movies. This means every detail, down to the trademark asymmetry of the helmet, is spot-on. The armor is made from modern materials, specifically white flexible ABS, which is durable and perfect for the wear and tear of cosplay events.

What’s Included in the Basic Kit:

  • All the White Armor: This includes every piece needed to complete the classic Stormtrooper look. The pieces are detailed and true to the original designs.

  • Professional ‘Popper’ Integrated Strap System: Ensures a secure and adjustable fit for various body types.

  • Rubber Gauntlet Gloves with White Molded Detail: Adding both protection and a seamless look to the ensemble.

  • Battle Spec Helmet: This durable and authentic piece of armor is crafted to meet the exacting standards of the original movie props.

  • Black Body Suit: The perfect base layer for comfort and authenticity.

  • Ready-to-Wear Straight Out of the Box: No extensive adjustments or modifications needed.

  • Accommodates Various Body Dimensions: Typically fits heights from 5'6" to 6'2" with various builds, but can be adapted for those outside these dimensions.

501st Legion Considerations

One of my main concerns was whether this armor would be 501st compliant. The 501st Legion is the premier Stormtrooper cosplay club, known for its high standards and charitable work. According to one review, Authentic Stormtrooper armor is very close to being 501st compliant, requiring only minor modifications to meet the exact standards. What those are they did not say but after asking around I am hearing more about needed to do some of the work yourself rather than just going out and buying one. Which makes sense to lend the legion some credibility and dedication to the cause and fandom. I am thinking this supplier might be just the thing none-the-less. A great place to start and then put your own twist in it. Weather it, add accessories, make it your own.

Accessories and Complements

Authentic Stormtrooper offers a range of accessories to complete the look. From white boots and a rubber neck seal to the iconic E11 Blaster, everything you need to complete your costume. These accessories are designed with the same attention to detail as the armor, ensuring a cohesive and authentic look.

However, there are other items you might want to consider from elsewhere to complete your ensemble, such as helmet fans, padding and a voice speaker to enhance your costume's authenticity and comfort.

Final Thoughts

Considering all the factors, Authentic Stormtrooper seems like a fantastic option for anyone serious about their Star Wars cosplay. The combination of accuracy, durability, and ease of use makes it a standout choice. Plus, the armor’s flexibility in accommodating different body types and the possibility of minor adjustments for 501st compliance add to its appeal. For everything this company offers it starts at $1500 and can get up to $2100. Which to me seams like a great deal.

Whether you’re a seasoned cosplayer or a Star Wars enthusiast looking to add a show-stopping piece to your collection, Authentic Stormtrooper appears to deliver on its promise of providing top-quality, movie-accurate armor. This is most likely my next birthday gift to myself.
